For our HR team in Berlin, Germany we are looking for a

Human Resources Specialist (f/m/d)
(14 months maternity cover – January 2019 onwards)

The HR Specialist is the first point of contact for staff inquiries. He/she is responsible for the entire HR administration, the maintenance of HR systems, employee correspondence, contract creation and preparatory payroll accounting for the GSA region. The HR Specialist supports the Sr HR Manager and reports into the VP, Human Resources.

Just the right job for you:

  • Preparation and administration of outsourced payroll accounting for Germany, processing employee inquiries and independent communication with the external payroll provider
  • Processing administrative tasks such as the preparation of employment contracts, contract changes, confirmations and correspondence with internal and external parties
  • Updating and maintaining the personnel information system as well as the timely submissions of various information, including creating new employees, registering exits, updating employee information and adapting and adapting and passing on changes
  • First contact person for any inquiries and problems for staff
  • Correspondence with external partners e.g. the Tax Office, Pension Insurance, Health Insurance
  • Manage the company's own retirement plan and the eLearning platform for occupational safety
  • Ensure and constantly optimize administrative processes related to payroll accounting, employee information system and other external interfaces
  • Preparation of hearings for works council
  • Administration of the Absence Management Process and first point of contact for employees for the Absence Management System in terms of vacation, illness, etc.
  • Creation of purchase orders for spending from the HR budget

That‘s why we want you:

  • At least 2 years of international HR back office experience backed up by appropriate training or study, ideally with a HR focus
  • Solid experience in payroll accounting, understanding of legal requirements and tax implications for Germany
  • In-depth knowledge of system administration, ideally Peoplesoft, ADP or comparable systems
  • Strong communicative and social skills as well as strong attention to detail
  • Multitasking skills especially in the simultaneous use of different programs and applications, practiced in dealing with deadlines and affinity for solving problems
  • Flexibility and experience in a rapidly changing and multicultural work environment
  • Proactive team-player with a service-oriented approach and a positive energy
  • Very good knowledge of German and English in words and writing
