For our IT Services team based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands we are recruiting for a:

Desktop Support Engineer

The Desktop Support Engineer will perform the complete line support for the workstation and application environment as well as the relevant infrastructure. This includes a variety of workstation/application builds and deployment and workstation-related projects for the business.

Just the right job for you:

  • Ownership of Incident & Problem management requests relating to the workstation and application environments;
  • Working on projects and tasks as directed by the IT Manager, meeting the required standards and expectations to the business;
  • Working with the SWEMEA, International and US Desktop teams on tuning the workstation environment according to business needs;
  • Working to ensure workstation integrity is always maintained and performance issues are quickly addressed;
  • Support and maintenance of application packaging and deployment;
  • Helping to maintain and update the central Desktop documentation repository (SWEMEA IT intranet site);
  • Working to ensure support expectations are met whilst promoting good customer service.

That‘s why we want you:

  • 3+ years of experience in similar support role preferably in larger (international) organizations;
  • Study: Microsoft Qualification (MSTS / MCP) or similar;
  • Specific skills: Experience working in a larger (250+) IT support environment;
  • Very good Microsoft operating system and application knowledge;
  • Hands on experience with Apple OSX operating system and applications is preferred;
  • Technical experience of MS infrastructure applications (Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM);
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
  • Specific knowledge: Desktop hardware and peripherals including laptops, printers, scanners and handheld devices;
  • Good written and spoken English.
